Western Mediterranean 7/8 days

The South of France encompasses the Mediterranean´s most sophisticated coast. There is a quality to the golden light and joie de vivre which sets this region apart from all others. Extending from the secluded Island de Porquerolles past Antibes and Nice to Monte Carlo, before bending southward to the Italian Riviera towns of San Remo, Portofino and Viareggio, eventually all of the world's greatest yachts will arrive on this blassed strip.

Following just one example of a typical 7-day-cruise in the Western Mediterranean, San Remo to San Remo.

Day 1

Embark in the charming port of San Remo. Enjoy a leisurely lunch on board while cruising to Villefranchs. After lunch, drop anchor to play with the yacht's "toys" before heading to Monaco. The cruise from Villefranchs to Monaco is beautiful, with Cap Ferrat to starboard and the high rocky coast escorting you all the way to the grand entrance of Monaco itself. If you have never entered Monaco by sea, this will be memorable experience. After dinner, live the sights and sounds of Monaco, particularly the famous casino for a round or two of baccarat.

Day 2
Depart from Monaco and head westward to explore the coast. Why not stop at the pretty port of St. Jean Cap Ferrat for lunch en routs to the cosmopolitan town of Cannes?

Day 3
Head out from Cannes to anchor off the two islands of St. Marguerita and St. Honorat. St. Honorat boasts one of the finest seafood restaurants on the Côte d'Azur - Chez Frederick's. It is well worth a visit ashore to dine at the restaurant followed by a walk around the island to look at the Abbey, where the monks sell their own specially brewed Eau de Vie - Warning; It's very strong! Take an afternoon cruise towards St. Tropez where you will sample the real razzmatazz of Riviera.

Day 4
With 3 miles of golden sand, Pampelonne Beach is a famous and popular venue just outside St. Tropez. Here you can swim and use yacht's "toys", and have lunch either on board, or ashore at one of the many stylish beach restaurants. Further west, idyllic Port-Cros is one of four islands that make up the Porquerolles group; a national park and considered an ares of natural beauty.

Day 5
Spend an extra day basking in the divine tranquillity of the Porquerolles where the only sounds are the lap of small waves against your yacht and the constant playing of the cicadas.

Day 6
Don't forget to stop at Port Grimaud the following day, on your way back along the coast. Nestled in the Gulf of St. Tropez, the town is only twenty-five years old and the invention of famous French architects. This visionaire decided to drain what was then a swamp and build a town designed around a series of canals, islands and bridges. Known locally as "little Venice", it is picturesque and well worth a visit, espacially with the yacht's tender to help you explore the waterways.

Day 7
Cruise to Cap d'Antibes for lunch in the bay. Alternatively, take lunch ashore in one of the many beach restaurants and then swim and play all afternoon with the yacht's "toys" in the superb bay. Step ashore in the old town that evening and watch the swallows dart from the eaves of the ancient village houses.

Day 8
Explore the town's market early before breakfast and take the glorious smells of freshly baked croissants, coffee and fresh fruit. Then leisurely cruise toward San Remo for desembarkation at midday.
