Delivery and Supervision of Warranty

Towards the end of the building period life gets very hectic on every yard.
The yard is under time pressure, sometimes also under financial pressure, and wishes to finish the yacht. The Captain is already charged with stocking the yacht, with instructing the crew or with planning the season ahead. Additionally, due not least to his long presence, he has built up an amicable relationship with the yard, as it should be.

OCEAN Independence will safeguard that the yard shall, in spite of all of the above, perform according to the contract until the very end.

According to detailed delivery protocols, the yacht shall be thoroughly tested and checked, and the removal of the faults by the yard shall be carefully supervised. OCEAN Independence will safeguard that the yacht is fully documented from the very beginning. We will accompany the delivery of the yacht to the Owner.

We shall advise on, and if necessary arrange, the required ship's papers. This can include all aspects of insurance and registration. During the warranty period, OCEAN Independence shall remain involved and supervise the warranty performance of the yard. Sometimes this is not so simple, as the yacht can be far from the building yard and the services must be delivered by another contractor or yard.

The cost for the new building supervision are determined by the extent of the required services. Cost for total building management by OCEAN Independence amount to, depending on the size of the yacht, approx.ca. 3.0 - 4.5% of the building cost of the yacht. We may say that in the past we have usually saved our Clients more than this amount, sometimes by proper contract preparation alone.
