Yacht Management ISPS - International Ship And Port Facility SupportThe International Ship and Port Facility Security Code was adopted by a Conference of Contracting Governments in London from 9 to 13 December 2002 and it's operative since July 1st 2004.
The Code aims, among other things, to establish an international framework for co-operation between governments, government agencies, local administrations and the shipping and port industries to detect security threats and take preventive measures against security incidents affecting ships or port facilities.
These objectives are achieved by designating appropriate personnel on board of ships, in port facilities and in ship management companies to assess and implement security plans that will be approved for each ship and port facility. Worldwide security issues after September 11 th 2001 have been the main reason behind the development of such measures.
OCEAN Independence aims to fully comply with the ISPS Code at the lowest cost and with the minimal operational disruption to the vessel.
