The spectacular awards ceremony, dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of the megayacht world, was organised by ShowBoats International and the International SeaKeepers Society as part of a four-day invitation-only celebration, bringing together people from all branches of the megayacht industry in glittering surroundings.
The presentation of awards and gala dinner were hosted in the prestigious “Salle des Etoiles” of the Sporting d’Ete in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Accompanied by OCEAN Independence’s Mario Velonà, and shipyard representatives Paolo Vitelli and Vincenzo Poerio of Azimut/Benetti, MY Ambrosia’s owner, Mr Ambrous Young, was presented with this truly deserved award.
Ambrous and Annie Young are co-founders of the SeaKeepers Society and their daughter Lisa is now on the Board of Directors, maintaining the family commitment to the restoration and protection of the world’s oceans.
MY Ambrosia has received many accolades including “a masterpiece of technology”, “the most technologically advanced Benetti to date”, and with her compact ABB Azipods, sophisticated Kongsberg dynamic positioning system and specialized gyro-stabilised night vision security, this epic and beautiful six-storey yacht is certainly worthy of her new title as the ‘Most Innovative Motor Yacht’.
