OCEAN Management, the yacht management arm of Ocean Independence, is pleased to announce the appointment of Piers Flood as a Yacht Manager based at OCEAN Management head office in Uster, Switzerland.
Oxford born Piers originally qualified as a land based engineer and cut his teeth as a project manager on high value engineering projects before fulfilling his ambition to work at sea as an engineer.
During his 11 year seagoing career he has been Chief Engineer aboard a range of yachts from 30 to 90m whilst sailing many miles, obtaining the MCA’s highest Yacht engineering qualification and living in a number of countries including the USA, Trinidad, Italy and France.
Using the experience gained at sea Piers came ashore in 2005 to supervise the build and refit of a number of yachts from 28 to 55m in various locations including Russia, Poland, Turkey, Italy, Holland and the UK. In addition to these projects he has been involved with extensive pre-contract studies on yachts ranging from 80m to over 130m.
