Technical Manager
OCEAN Management, a division of OCEAN Independence, is a company specialising in the management of luxury super yachts throughout the world. We are seeking a Technical Manager for our management office based in Uster, on the outskirts of Zürich.
Candidates who hold a Qualified Engineer certificate and have sea going experience of mega yachts or cruise ships are kindly invited to apply.
A minimum of 2 – 3 years operational experience onboard similar vessels as noted above, or within a similar management position ashore is necessary, along with a profound knowledge of the English language.
The ideal candidate should also possess strong computer literacy skills and be proficient in software applications such as Word for Windows, and Excel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient operation of the ships under his control. This would include the planning, control and execution of issues such as maintenance, repairs, surveys, certification requirements and dry docking. Additional responsibilities would include general management, crew placement, regular vessel visits, and monitoring vessel performance. The role involves frequent travel for yacht inspections and ISM audits for the yachts under management.
In addition, you would also be responsible for ensuring the yachts are operated to the highest standard and are compliant with the relevant legal and regulatory requirements as well as meeting the company’s high quality standards and policies.
