Usually OCEAN Independence administers an account which is installed by an Owner in order to cover the expected yacht's expenses, and informs the Owner regularly about payments made. Alternatively an Owner can choose to be advised on payments due and arrange for transfers directly.
We make sure that the ship's cash box is timely and adequately furnished. We prevent too low or too high balances.
We check all incoming invoices for their content, when due and correspondence with work, equipment or service delivered.
Under the guidance of OCEAN Independence the Captain will usually keep a simple on-board account of all ship's expenses. Alternatively this monthly account can be kept by OCEAN Independence. Such accounting system separates the most important groups of expenses and is based on a proper filing of invoices and receipts. The Owner will obtain a list of the expenses for all groups, monthly or according to his wishes.
Depending on registration, we can re-claim VAT with the European Union, using the accounts as our basis.
An annual account is made at the beginning of each year.
