Naturally it is of importance that the building of the yacht is successful: The result, the yacht, must be everything the Owner hoped for.

However, we at OCEAN Independence also strongly believe that the total experience must be a success if the new construction should be considered to be successful. A finally beautiful yacht can not always make up for a lot of irritation experienced by an Owner during the building period - and our sole interest is the Client!

Construction of a yacht entails various elements, which in their own way all are important for the success as defined above. The supervision and monitoring of these elements is what we combine in our building supervision - always in contact and in communication with experts. And we welcome, of course, participation of the Owner and/or the future Captain, etc.etc. Architects and Designers must be supervised and often corrected - and still must deliver their drawing to the yard at the agreed time. Critical design groups will be checked by third parties.

OCEAN Independence monitors, or has monitored, whether the yard is building according to the existing building specification and drawings. This is especially of importance with regard to areas accessible with difficulty, and with regard to humidity, corrosion protection, etc. We make recommendations and corrections as and where necessary.

OCEAN Independence monitors the accordance of the yard with the time schedule and recommends measures where necessary.

OCEAN Independence checks the accordance of each of the yard 's invoices with the terms and conditions of the building contract.

OCEAN Independence monitors and negotiates all changes, alterations and additions during the building period, as well as their financial and time consequences - if any.

The Client is regularly informed about the building progress by periodical written reports, including financial accounting.

We oppose the practice of many yards to raise the building price by means of "Extra Work". "Our" last two new buildings (38.5m) were delivered within 1% of the originally agreed contract price.
