In the past OCEAN Independence represented Clients for work done in yards in Germany, Holland, Italy, France, Spain, New Zealand and in the United States of America. We are especially knowledgeable about yards in Holland and Italy.
We know the market profoundly, and we therefore also know about how some yard products maintain their value - and how the value of some evaporates. Based on the building specification, the type of yacht, the budget of the Client and his/her time schedule, etc., OCEAN Independence will suggest yards that might be considered for the new construction.
We arrange for complete and informative documentation on such yards, and we arrange for yard offers, based on the preliminary design and the specification. All yard offers will be carefully checked for their completeness. Also each yard will be further checked with regard to the current standard of work and the final soundness.
We advise the Client, but finally it remains his/her decision to choose the yard that he/she is most comfortable with.
Subsequently OCEAN Independence will accompany and advise the Client during offering stage and at the negotiations. We know about labour rates, customary discounts, other reductions, etc.
OCEAN Independence, due to our long-lasting experience with yards as well as with building contracts, will safeguard that the necessary and the customary as well as other useful clauses are not left out of the Building Contract.
Where it seems advisable, we involve external experts (tank testing, noise insulation, vibrations, local law, taxes, etc.), or have their participation included in the Contract.
A carefully made specification and contract is the best tool to avoid unnecessary extra cost and other aggravation!
