A cruise through the icy waters to the Strait of Magellan will allow you to see flocks of penguins and the magical gleam of the glaciers. Further north, in the winter months Chile’s coldest destinations transform into luxury ski resorts that attract the international jet-set, lured by fantastic skiing opportunities outside of the regular season. The towns of La Parva and Portillo are popular, exclusive resorts, conveniently located near the capital of Santiago de Chile.
Further north lies the amazing city of Valparaíso that appears to rise directly from the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. Its breath-taking architecture, excellent restaurants, fascinating museums and fine art galleries make this a thriving cultural hotspot on the South American west coast. The fine seaside resort of Viña del Mar lies close by, tempting visitors with its wide promenades offering exceptional views across to wedding-cake mansions and soft powdery beaches that line the azure blue coast.
