Cuba: Vintage Cars & Cigars

Cuba's capital, Havana, particularly it’s old town, is among the most iconic cities in the world. Due to decade long embargoes, Cuba has remained relatively protected from over-development and much of the colonial-style architecture has been preserved. The streets are lined well-kept vintage cars as it has been been cut off from imports for more than 40 years. Cuba’s most popular destination is Varadero, a resort town in the province of Matanzas. Some 20km of pristine white sand beaches make it a perfect destination for escaping to a slower pace of life.

Varadero has been a jet-set resort since the 30s, when it was frequented by infamous figures such as Al Capone. Its natural attractions include caves and a chain of easily accessed cays. Explore the cities of Matanzas and Cárdenas and the resort of San Miguel de los Baños. As a free port, Varadero is easily accessed by yacht as well as having great facilities for scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, and other water sports. Sail between the archipelagos around Cuba, such as the Colorados Archipelago on the northwestern coast, the Sabana-Camagüey Archipelago on the north-central Atlantic coast and the Jardines de la Reina on on the south-central coast for unspoilt nature, striking landscapes and true escapism.
