CYBA Appoints June Montagne as President

An active member of the Charter Yacht Brokers Association International Inc (CYBA) since 1997, Ocean Independence is delighted to announce that charter broker June Montagne of our Fort Lauderdale office has been voted in as President of the association for 2021 - 2022.

Part of the CYBA Board of Directors in various roles since the early 2000's, June prides herself on introducing a fresh approach to continually promote knowledge, competence, and mindfulness within the yachting industry. Previously appointed President for the 2011/12 term, she was co-chair in writing, developing, and launching the successful New Broker Online Seminar that has become a staple charter industry asset. Serving to clarify industry sector involvement specifically for new retail charter brokers, assistants and colleagues, it was will also be instrumental in the near future in further accreditation for charter brokers. June also played a significant role in the development of the CYBA Hall of Fame, which recognises worthy yachting professionals worldwide on an annual basis at the Antigua Yacht Show.  

June acted as Vice President at CYBA during both 2015/16 and the past two years. This has been a challenging time for the Board of Directors, who have been very active in their support of the membership during the repercussions of hurricane destruction and, most recently, the ongoing pandemic. 

Committed to a strict code of ethics, the mission of CYBA is to promote and maintain a high degree of professionalism within the yacht charter industry. As well as further fiduciary responsibility, they also sponsor educational programs that increase industry knowledge and awareness.
