News Global Vision, Local Insight: A Company Update

Global vision, local insight; an ethos at the core of the Ocean Independence Team, and a key ingredient to our ability to provide a truly bespoke service to any Client anywhere in the world. With 15 offices globally and over 100 brokers and staff speaking 26 languages, we’re never far away and are on hand around the clock to provide local knowledge, guidance, and assistance.

The first half of 2022 has seen an enjoyable period of growth and expansion for Ocean Independence, with two new office locations in Konstanz and Hamburg. Located on the banks of the Rhine and Elbe rivers respectively, the two offices keep the water close to home, as it is second nature for the Team.

With a wealth of knowledge in accounting and finance, our new Konstanz office has become the finance centre of Ocean Independence, allowing for seamless transactions and services for the company and Clients alike. Meanwhile, Hamburg serves as an ideal location for a region that continues to demand the highest standard of service available to the yachting community.

Moving our sights towards island life, 2022 has also seen the welcome transition of both the UK and Palma teams into their new and upgraded offices. With life returning to normal for the UK Team, recent months have marked the welcome return to an office base. Hanneke Maljaars, Charter Broker and UK Director, comments: “Working as a team, locally and globally, has always been essential for our success as a company. While many lessons in efficiency and communication were learned through remote working, nothing can beat the collaboration and team spirit which face-to-face interaction brings.”

For the team in Palma, the incredibly unique and well-located new offices provide a truly inspirational setting, keeping exceptional 6-star service at the forefront of the team’s mind. Located on the waterline of Porto Pí, the new office offers a further step toward bringing the whole Team closer and closer to our valued clients and industry friends, further enhancing the connections.

Last but not least, we were delighted to welcome Allan Jouning to our yachts sales Team in Auckland. Having spent decades on the high seas, including numerous circumnavigations, two expeditions to Antarctica, and captaining one of the first private yachts to transit the Northwest Passage from west to east, Allan’s passion and enthusiasm for yachting are truly infectious. Having founded one of the region’s most renowned superyacht support service, management, and charter operation businesses, 37 South Ltd, Allan now brings his boundless knowledge to the most beautiful cruising grounds in the world and we are confident that he will be a great asset to both our Clients and our Team.

Whether looking to buy or sell a yacht, charter the vessel of your dreams, or simply needing advice on how to get the most out of your yachting experience; please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any office or Ocean Independence Team member who will be happy to help.
