Andries was born and raised in South Africa, and after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cape Town, he started his yachting career in the South of France.
Having sailed extensively in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, US, and Baltic, he settled down in Zürich where he lives with his wife and son. He joins the Ocean Independence team as a Yacht Manager in the Küsnacht office with 15 years of first hand experience, on board a number of renowned superyachts.
In his free time, Andries enjoys the outdoors, playing sports, biking and cooking.
