Compliance Manager, Designated Person Ashore
Keith began his maritime career with the British Royal Navy, where as an officer he enjoyed a challenging and varied work life. His personal blend of operational and technical experience comes from responsibilities as diverse as leading a bomb disposal diving team diving around the world at depths of 80m, being in charge of fires and emergencies and being second in command of the 210m Aircraft Carrier, HMS ARK ROYAL. He has an honours degree in engineering, a diploma in marine surveying and is a qualified project manager. His technical knowledge is complemented by his operational time at sea, managing and driving ships of various sizes and propulsion systems. Keith has also been responsible for launching helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, replenishing at sea or ‘hovering’ to investigate sea mines.
Coupling this professional knowledge with his enduring passion for smaller vessels and sailing, Keith went on to train and become a qualified yacht surveyor and a full member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying. Over the next six years, he surveyed a range of yachts as well as using his in-depth knowledge and experience to undertake risk management reviews on board superyachts.
