Michael was raised in the Midwest where he raced one-designed yachts extensively and sailed collegiately while attending the University of Wisconsin where he obtained a BA (English Lit).
Upon graduation, he worked his way up from chartering in the Caribbean to racing within the Maxi boat and 50ft IOR circuits for 5 years competing in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and the Pacific. Michael then moved his young family from England to San Diego in 1992 to take a job as a service representative for Barient/Sparcraft during America’s Cup.
For the past 25 years, Michael has represented new build and service yards including Palmer Johnson, Intermarine, and Rybovich. He has worked with the brokerage community, dealt with yacht owners and managers, and participated in marketing events and sales efforts. He provides tremendous value to his clients in knowing what the costs are in building or maintaining a vessel.

This allowed me to move ashore and utilize my “hands on” experience in a shipyard environment for a period of 18 years working with very well-established yacht constructors and repair facilities.
