Pursuit Custom Life: Top 10 Yachts

From distinguished sailing yachts to thrilling new builds, these superyachts all have one thing in common: they were designed to offer the ultimate custom lifestyle.

Due for completion in 2025, this extraordinary new construction project seamlessly blends the exhilaration of a sailing yacht with the luxury and comfort of a motor yacht, giving you full flexibility for your lifestyle. Designed by Geneva-based Valentin Design in collaboration with renowned German shipyard Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven, PROJECT SONATA was conceived with one goal in mind: to create a “buildable, eco-friendly superyacht of tomorrow” which incorporates naval architecture in the design process from the outset. With a beach club, gym and deck Jacuzzi, the design of this 107m yacht prioritises the experience of her guests, for which there is room to accommodate 12 guests in six magnificent staterooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows plus a luxurious and sustainable interior connects to the outdoors in this revolutionary design.

Designed by the world renowned Bruce King Yacht Design and built in 2003 by America’s oldest boatbuilder Hodgdon Yachts, 47m ASOLARE (ex SCHEHERAZADE) is a true masterpiece. She was, at the time of her launch, the largest cold-molded sailing yacht ever built, and no detail was overlooked in her creation. As well as deploying cutting edge technology, Hodgdon’s skilled carvers painstakingly produced unique sculptures as well as hundreds of individually hand-carved sea motif decorations for ASOLARE’s elegant interior, designed by the revered Winch Design. Her hull and frames were crafted from a 600-year-old Douglas Fir and a 300-year-old Western Red Cedar tree, while her functions are fully up to date, controlled using touch screens and joy sticks. With accommodation for up to six guests in a master suite and two twin staterooms, and an incredible array of water toys and accessories, ASOLARE would make for an exceptional family charter in the Mediterranean.

Fuelled by twin Rolls-Royce Marine engines, this award-winning 50m tri-deck explorer superyacht has a top speed of 16 knots and was designed for long range cruising, perfect for more adventurous charters. Fully customised and with sleek interior styling by Salvagni Architetti, ENDEAVOUR 2 can accommodate ten guests in five exquisite staterooms. The capacious full-beam Owner’s suite with private deck is located on the main deck and is flooded with natural light thanks to the yacht’s extensive use of glass. On the lower deck, ENDEAVOUR 2’s VIP suite with private salon is convertible into two double staterooms, offering plenty of flexibility. When not cruising, family and friends will be kept entertained by ENDEAVOUR 2’s incredible selection of toys, including jet skis, wakeboards and Seabobs, while two tenders, including a 7m/23′ limousine tender, will transport you to land in style.

There are catamarans and then there is BLACKCAT 50. Due for completion in 2024, this 50m supercat yacht is set to become the largest single-structure carbon yacht in the world and will be capable of making speeds of 30 knots, all in exceptional style. The result of decades of top-flight sailing experience, the yacht was conceived by multihull expert and BlackCat founder Mitch Booth, the winner of two Olympic medals and numerous world titles. Yacht designer Malcolm McKeon and M2 Atelier have been appointed for the interiors, with North Technology Group assisting with the sail plan, rigging and sails themselves, while Baltic Yachts have been selected for the construction. The result will be a flawless high performance catamaran, with 320sqm of interior space, glass-wrapped overheads, accommodation for up to 10 guests and 12 crew and an array of layout options to suit your lifestyle.

Launched in 2020 and brand new to the charter market, LEL is an entirely bespoke superyacht, built to exacting standards by Italian shipyard Rossinavi. Boasting the largest beach club ever seen on a 50m yacht, LEL was designed by Florence-based studio Luca Dini for pure pleasure. Capable of speeds of up to 23 knots, LEL’s sporty design belies her luxurious internal spaces. Huge windows and vast open decks seamlessly link the yacht with the breath taking scenery beyond, and everything in the elegant and contemporary interiors is custom made – right down to the light switches. Other highlights include a crystal veranda leading out to spacious external deck areas, an array of cutting-edge tenders and toys and deck swimming pool. An ideal charter yacht, LEL can accommodate up to 12 guests in six magnificent en suite staterooms. For the client who doesn’t simply desire a yacht but wishes to create their ideal project, the OTAM CUSTOM RANGE 115 is a truly unique proposition. Following on from the award-winning Gipsy, this is the second launch from the distinguished Italian shipyard’s Aluminium Custom Range. With sleek and bold exterior lines inspired by the aeronautical and automotive worlds designed by BG Design Firm, this bespoke new-build 30m yacht is due for completion in 2023 and is entirely customisable both externally and internally. Choose between a three-engine configuration with MTU 2600-hp engines and a KaMeWa waterjet central booster for a top speed of 44 knots and a cruising speed of a zippy 32 knots, or twin MTU engines for a top speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 28 knots. Eight guests can be accommodated in four staterooms including a full-beam Owner’s suite, and the layout can still be adapted for specific requirements.

There are superyachts and there are those which go beyond the wildest imaginings of possibility. PROJECT CENTURY X will be one such yacht. Due for delivery in 2024, she was penned in partnership with exterior designer Christopher Seymour and design consultant Carl Esch, with technical support from the renowned Fincantieri Yachts. This 110m megayacht’s sleek lines and classic silhouette will delight purists, but it is her interior which truly sets her apart. With nearly 3000sqm of space – a staggering 1400sqm of which is dedicated solely to the Owner and their guests – PROJECT CENTURY X is more luxury resort than yacht. With opulent interiors by the acclaimed Berlin-based designer Theodoros Fotiadis, she offers seven beautifully appointed staterooms for 14 guests who can spread out across four vast decks, all served by an elevator (as well as 27 crew).

Few yachts live up to their name quite like PROJECT PHOENIX will. Originally built in 1968 by Dutch shipyard E.J. Smit & Zoon as a commercial vessel, PROJECT PHOENIX will, like her namesake, rise from the ashes as a bespoke explorer superyacht. The newly-rendered exterior and interior by renowned Omega Architects sees PROJECT PHOENIX become a 58m explorer with an 11,000-nautical mile range and the option to fully customise the entire yacht design. The new renderings propose that the Owner’s stateroom gains a 2500sqm main deck, private terrace and a luxurious en suite. Five further staterooms on the lower deck, designed with contrasting elements of soft leather, brass, marble and European oak, offer accommodation for 10 further guests. A cinema, beach club, pool, space for three tenders and the option to add a helipad will make PROJECT PHOENIX the perfect yacht for the adventurous Owner.

Launched in 2020, this striking 68m superyacht from renowned German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen is an elegant new addition to the Ocean Independence sales and charter fleet. With exceptional interior styling by Bremen-based Focus Yacht Design, SOARING can welcome 12 guests in six opulent staterooms, each finished with custom made artworks. The master suite, located on the aft upper deck, has sliding doors onto the private Owner’s aft deck, while on the deck forward you’ll find a library with a sensational view. Accommodation for 17 crew will ensure a relaxed luxury yachting experience. SOARING’s toy box is hard to beat, with a flotilla of three beautiful tenders and toys including Seadoos, Seabobs, wakeboards and electric mountain bikes plus scooters for onshore adventuring. The well-equipped gym is best followed by a relax in the steam room and spa, or a glass of champagne in the deck Jacuzzi. By night, SOARING’s underwater lighting system provides a mesmerising spectacle.

Sailing yachts don’t come with a finer pedigree than 34m performance sloop SPIIP. Designed by legendary naval architect Germán Frers and delivered in 2000 by the revered Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman, SPIIP is fresh from a EUR 1.2 million refit in 2021 and is ready for the next chapter in her story. SPIIP has proven herself time and again on the superyacht regatta scene, winning both the Antigua Superyacht Challenge and the St Barth’s Bucket in 2017. Delivered as Unfurled, SPIIP also won the Best Sailing Yacht in the 23-36m category at the International Superyacht Society Awards 2001. Maintained by her current and past owners with the utmost care, over the years SPIIP has been fitted with new teak decks, LED lighting and a Sonos audio system, had an engine and generator rebuild, and full repaint of her hull, superstructure, mast and boom, among many other services and upgrades. With a top speed of 11 knots and accommodation for six guests and four crew, SPIIP provides for both performance and pleasure.
