Design and Technology
Welcome the rising stars of the design world.
Rob Armstrong started his career in superyacht design with celebrated Ken Freivokh Design, undertaking diverse projects and commissions. His pioneering approach and attention to detail resulted in award-winning designs. Along with Alastair Fletcher, Rob co-founded ThirtyC, a multi-disciplinary consultancy, specialising in interior and exterior superyacht design.
Tailoring each design to the owner’s lifestyle, tastes and aspirations, he continually looks to push the boundaries in the evolution of conceptual design. On his recent project 50m Mako, the interior and exterior living spaces flow seamlessly, while the refined furnishings and clever use of materials have furthered his reputation for innovation.
At the tender age of 5, Adam Voorhees drew profiles and interior plans of boats for fun. Named 2010 World Superyacht Young Designer of the Year for 66m Ra, Adam then launched his own studio in California to focus on developing concepts that draw on the natural environment. His robust portfolio of projects vary in scale, type and style, but are united by Adam’s inherent appreciation of the relationship between architecture and environment.
Adam continues to push the boundaries of design, pursuing innovative challenges: including his current 70m sailing yacht project, which features two dramatic glass deckhouses.
