Charter Destination Corfu

Chartering a yacht in delightful Corfu gives access to both north and south sides of the island, enabling visits to stunning vantage points that would otherwise be unreachable. North west of mainland Greece, Corfu is the second largest island in the Ionian Sea, just a short boat ride away from the Albanian coast.

An island immersed in Greek mythology. and in history, ravaged by a string of fearsome battles and violent conquests, Corfu today is astonishingly peaceful and pretty. Ticking all the boxes on a Mediterranean yacht charter checklist, visitors can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, beautiful sunshine, cultural highlights and stunning landscapes. Where the northern part of the island is more mountainous and ringed by pebble beaches, the south is characterized by lush lowlands, wide, sandy beaches and tranquil bays.

Influenced by the English nobility, Greek education and Venetian style, Corfu attracts a cultured crowd. In the small capital Corfu city, the old town is a labyrinth of narrow, colourful cobblestone streets surrounded by vast fortifications. As a World Heritage Site, the architecture of the old town is well worth leaving the beaches for. While you’re on land, make a beeline to the lively locals haunt Tsipouradiko. Near the Old Port you can eat meze washed down with a lively glass of tsipouro. Those with a sweet tooth should stop at Papagiorgis, offering 40 different flavours of homemade ice cream. Enjoying a steady breeze all summer long, Corfu delivers culture, culinary flair and excellent sailing in the crystalline Ionian Sea – this is a great starting point from which to explore further.
