Charter Destination Göcek

The Gulf of Göcek on Turkey’s Lycian coast is one of the country’s most alluring charter destinations. Crystal clear waters abound with marine life and the majestic peaks run down to lush emerald pine forests.

There are many beautiful anchorages and attractions in the Göcek/Fethiye area so you can spend the week just pottering around. The prevailing wind is from the west and tends to blow a little stronger in the afternoons, so if you want to go further afield, the Bozburun peninsular is within a reasonable distance with a marina in Marmaris en route. In Göcek, fishing villages sit below dramatic rock faces and gorgeous beaches with shallow waters offer excellent snorkelling terrain. For sun-worshippers, the coastline is scattered with pristine beaches, from sands of Sarigerme or the Inclice beach, surrounded by dense pine woodland.

But it’s not all slow living. For those who want to get the adrenalin coursing, consider a wild water ride in the Saklikent, Turkey’s longest and deepest gorge and an insanely beautiful spot. Furthermore, the favourable winds here mean the Gulf of Gocek is a paradise for paragliders. The town of Göcek still has the lilt of a traditional fishing village, despite the fact that is has slowly and quietly emerged as Turkey’s superyacht hub, with magnificent marinas and all the amenities a seasoned traveller expects. An archipelago of gorgeous islands pepper the gulf, each with their individual charm, but all featuring postcard beaches as well as secluded anchorages and the opportunity to try out your yachts toys: from jet skiing to scuba diving.
