Sitting atop narrow coastal area with three sides bounded by France and facing the dazzling Mediterranean, it is an inexcusably thrilling destination. As your Monaco to Rome yacht charter sets sail, marvel at one of the most beautiful harbours set against dramatic cliffs and brimming with mega yachts, exuding an aura of exclusive elegance.

Day Two portofino

Vibrant and charming, Portofino is a splash of colourful houses sat against a riot of lush hillside greenery and sapphire blue waters. Renowned for emanating style, the beating heart is the piazzetta, nestling in a small coastal nook, teeming with chic bars, boutiques and restaurants. Luxury yachts bob in the sparkling bay and anchorages abound. Enjoy a leisurely stroll, refresh with delicious gelato and head hillside to the Church of St.George for stunning views. The setting of the harbour is spectacular and the locals so welcoming, it is well recommended to spend some time soaking up the atmosphere.

Day Three rapallo

Rapallo waterfront buildings

With a nostalgic air, the palm-lined beach, trompe l’oeil façades and seaside 16th-century castle all add to Rapallo’s appeal. Waterfront restaurants create a lively dining scene, the fascinating monastery of San Fruttuoso is best visited by yacht and don’t miss taking the local funivia (cable railway) up to the stunning Sanctuary of Montallegro with spectacular views. For the ultimate beach experience, Silent Bay at Sestri Levanti ticks all the boxes. A locals favourite, houses tumble down to the golden sands and colourful fishing boats dot the shoreline. Ashore there are boutiques and gelato shops to discover in the bustling old town.

Day Four cingue terre

Directly translated, Cinque Terre means ‘Five Lands’; namely the coastal villages of Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. This unique region is part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, hilltop houses are painted in a range of vivid colours so that local fishermen can see their homes from the sea. No big label shops will take your attention from the main event: lunch. Meander through the narrow streets, stop and sip an ice-cold limoncello and soak up the laid back atmosphere with a plate of fresh antipasti. Here’s a place to slow down and watch the world go by.

Day Five portovenere

Nestled in the Bay of Poets, a yachting haven, picturesque Portovenere is adorned with traditional gelato-coloured buildings. Approaching from the water, the quaint harbour is surrounded by old fishermen's houses and interspersed with lively cafés. This charming medieval village offers a slice of fascinating culture - a great place for wandering and to soak up the relaxed atmosphere. Wind your way up the cobbled alleys from the harbour to find great views at the castle and take lunch at one of the excellent local restaurants where freshly caught fish is always on the menu.

Day Six forte dei marmi

White sheet sun covers on a picturesque beach

Renowned for its vast expanse of sandy beaches, Forte dei Marmi is a popular seaside region on the Tuscan coast. Characterised by The Pontile, this long, central pier offers wide views across the Tyrrhenian Sea and back towards the city flanked by the Apuan Alps. Ashore the smart town is a highly stylish zone, the marble streets are lined with fashionable boutiques and designer stores. Enjoy leisurely relaxation on the enchanting 11 kilometres of beach, strewn with chic “bagni” beach clubs offering day to night entertainment. The backdrop of elegant luxury villas that dot the hillsides simply add to the exclusive feel emanating from this vibrant location.

Day Seven elba

Harbour

The largest island of the Tuscan archipelago, Elba boasts transparent blue waters, lush landscapes and bright buildings thronging with friendly locals. It is no wonder this is a popular place for yacht charters to include on their itinerary. In this little slice of paradise the many beaches offer sand, shingle and pebbles, while scuba diving is excellent thanks to the surrounding well-preserved coral reef. Steeped in history and culture, Portoferraio is one of the oldest regional towns, where buildings display stunning architecture. Soak up panoramas from the top of Monte Capanne accessed by chairlift, or visit Capoliveri, famous for markets and traditional artisan produce.

Day Eight isola del giglio

With a host of sensational beaches boasting crystalline waters, scuba divers, snorkellers and swimmers all relish time on Giglio Island. Porto Santo Stefano stands hillside with an imposing Spanish style fortress that dominates the harbour. Take a wander around the citadel walls and staircases to fully explore the history alongside some incredible views. Do not miss the superb array of beaches here - at Caldane the sand is almost red, influenced by the surrounding rocks while Cannelle is only accessible from the water, so an ideal spot for yachts to anchor in tranquillity.

Day Nine rome

End your Monaco to Rome yacht charter in the Eternal City, a deeply complex and vastly sprawling metropolis that is impossible to appreciate in just one day. However, capturing a few of the highlights on a sightseeing tour is worth planning ahead. Disembarking from your journey from Monaco to Rome, the Colosseum and Forum are amongst the most iconic attractions that await. Throw coins in the Trevi Fountain and you’ll be sure to return to explore more of Rome in the future. As you disembark your luxury yacht charter, make plans to explore ashore in this fascinating part of the world.
