New England offers a multitude of yachting opportunities, whether in sheltered bays, bustling harbours or pretty inland lakes. Whale and bird watching are popular pursuits and sailing on traditional sailboats such as Maine’s “windjammers” is a common local activity.

In Newport cruise past opulent mansions belonging to a bygone era, enjoy rich history lessons in breath-taking Nantucket and at Block Island sail around the dramatic cliffs home to the red brick 18th century lighthouse.
