Day to day itinerary
Day One Longyearbyen - Western Fjords
Begin your adventure in Longyearbyen. In the afternoon, embark on the expedition vessel after an introduction from the expedition leader and a safety briefing from the Captain. Then, set sail out through the Adventfjord and wave goodbye to civilisation.
Day Two Western Fjords
In the morning, sail by Prins Karls Forland, an uninhabited island of beautiful scenery off the west coast of Spitsbergen. This is a place where sometimes walruses are likely to haul out or be sighted. In the afternoon, perhaps get your boots on for a hike to spot grazing reindeer. If the conditions allow, sail along the coast exploring places such as Krossfjorden, home to majestic glaciers, and some of Svalbard’s most beautiful fjords and scenery.
Day Three - Four Western Fjords - Northern Fjords & Ice Edge
Over the next few days, navigate between the coast and the sea ice that extends all the way to the North Pole. Count on regular shore landings and zodiac tours to visit different natural and historical sites including glaciers and partake in wilderness hikes.
Day Five - Six Northern Fjords & Ice Edge - East Coast
If sea ice allows, head east towards the Hinlopen Strait, exploring ice, cliffs, and crossing the 80° North parallel. Long days will be filled with adventure, zodiac cruises, wildlife spotting, and vast bird cliffs. Depending on the ice and winds, either continue south or turn back west.
Day Seven - Eight East Coast - Southern Fjords
Head south along Spitsbergen’s coast, visiting rarely explored landing sites and enjoying the breathtaking nature and wildlife. After rounding the southern tip, explore Hornsund with wilderness hikes before sailing north toward Isfjorden.
Day Nine Southern Fjords - Isfjorden
Already back in the protection of Isfjorden, find peaceful landing sites to hike or simply relax and take it all in. Isfjorden offers a fantastic mix of landscapes, history and wildlife, offering the best possible closure to the experience before heading back to civilisation.
Day Ten Isfjorden - Longyearbyen
By morning, arrive back at the port of Longyearbyen. Disembark the ship and say goodbye to the new friends you’ve made, all the while keeping the memories of the transformative adventure you shared together.
