What Counts as “Bad Weather”?

Bad weather is objectively defined using verified meteorological data. A day is considered a “bad weather day” if, between 08:00 and 20:00:

More than 1.5mm of precipitation recorded for at least one hour

Average wind speed exceeds 22 knots (40.7 km/h). The required number of bad weather hours per day ranges from one to four hours, depending on the insurance package chosen

Coverage can include two different locations per day (morning and afternoon) based on your itinerary.

Your itinerary is submitted to Poncho, and you receive a personalised insurance offer thereafter.

3 Secure your coverage

Accept and pay via Poncho’s secure platform

4 Enjoy your charter

Poncho tracks daily weather; you'll be notified if a claim is triggered

5 Get refunded if needed

Eligible refunds are processed within two banking days after submission
