Named after a meteorite found in Argentina and inspired by space rocket design, it has been conceived to conquer some of the world’s most challenging environments, with its revolutionary technology and state-of-the-art amenities. With a distinctive plumb bow, this mammoth 105-metre superyacht boasts a diesel electric propulsion system making it capable of 16.5 knots. This handsome steel and aluminium ice-class concept from Hawk Yachts has been conceived with year-round charter in mind. At 48 metres in length and with space for up to 13 guests, this sturdy yacht will have a range of 6,000 nautical miles, making it perfect for adventure and long-range cruising in hot or cold climates. Like all Hawk Yachts, the 690 has been designed as a truly viable investment opportunity, with pared back build and maintenance costs and a flexible interior arrangement. Whether sailing through the twists and turns of the Amazon River or jumping on one of the boat’s custom tenders in Antarctica, this is a distinctive and nimble yacht, with a head for exploration and an adventurous spirit. With a name translating to ‘New World’ in Indonesian, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Dunia Baru is a boat with adventure in its DNA. Built to the traditional ‘phinisi’ style in teak and ironwood, this distinctive 51 metre yacht sails to some of the most exciting destinations on the planet – from Komodo and Thailand to Palau and Myanmar. When guests aren’t hiking up volcanoes, diving coral reefs or tracking local wildlife, there’s plenty of space on board for up to 14 guests to relax and unwind. Conceived by Norwegian Owner Kjell Inge Røkke and designed by superyacht supremo Espen Oeino, this is a peerless project with ground-breaking ocean research at its heart. At a colossal 182 metres in length, there will be room on board for the numerous scientists, technicians, equipment and laboratories that will be necessary for this yacht to fulfil her ambitious goals in marine science and sustainability. Crucially, there will also be bags of space for guests who can come along to enjoy the boat and support its ambitious projects in luxurious surroundings. Mingling areas will provide the perfect space for families to learn more about the work being carried out on board – including an auditorium, capable of holding up to 40 people – classrooms and observation areas, complete with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The boat, when it is completed in 2020, will be capable of circumnavigating the globe without stopping to refuel – and just as well, as there are grand plans and great oceans to study.
