ASOLARE is a 47m sailing yacht for charter, built by Hodgdon Yachts in 2003 and refitted in 2018. Designed by Bruce King Yacht Design with interiors by Winch Design of London, she accommodates eight guests in four staterooms with a crew of six.

ASOLARE is a sailing yacht of rare material provenance. Hodgdon Yachts, the celebrated Maine-based shipyard, constructed her hull and frames from timber that includes more than 600-year-old Douglas fir and 300-year-old western red cedar, a foundation that speaks to a different order of craft than composite construction. Their skilled carvers extended that ethos throughout the vessel, producing unique sculptures and hundreds of individually hand-carved sea motif details.

Winch Design of London was responsible for the interiors, which balance warmth and lightness: natural wood tones, open volumes, and skylights that draw daylight deep into the accommodation. The result is a yacht that feels spacious and settled at sea rather than formally dressed for display.

The master stateroom is a full-beam Owner's suite positioned aft, with a private bathroom and shower room, his-and-hers offices, and direct deck access to the aft cockpit , a notably private arrangement that keeps the Owner's quarters well separated from the guest areas. Two twin guest staterooms are each fitted with en suite showers; one includes a Pullman berth for a third guest. A fourth cabin, converted to a double bed works well as a nanny cabin or for a further couple. The layout is very flexible and well suited to a family or small group of eight.

Onboard systems are controlled via touch screens and joysticks, and ASOLARE is fitted with Zero Speed stabilisers, a beach club, an indoor cinema, and scuba diving equipment. She carries a 3,000nm range under her single 960hp DDC MTU V12 diesel engine, and is classed by Lloyd's Register under the Cayman Islands flag.

The crew, led by a Captain with a strong reputation among guests, is central to what makes ASOLARE work as a charter yacht. The combination of a genuinely responsive team and a vessel with real character makes for a relaxed, well-paced sailing experience.
